So Tuesday morning I dropped Jo off at school and as arranged told her I would see her after school Wednesday. That's right - 24Hrs "off duty"...lol. Jo had dance photos Tuesday evening and I can't do her hair and make-up (thank God). So, her mother and I arranged that she would spend the night at home and I would just come get her after school Wednesday.
This actually worked out to my advantage as I was able to contact friends who worked with me on the Star. Susan (FOTO) and Erica (YSEC) were both home so I arranged to collect them and we went for lunch, then to the CN Tower and later in the evening for dinner. It was wonderful to catch up with both of them. Turns out Erica will be joining the same ship on the same day as me...Susan however is bound for another - I told her to get trans-shipped (LOL).
Tuesday night I didn't get in until about 0030Hrs...wow what a long day. Home to the hotel and I was asleep real quick.
Wednesday, I slept in (as I was up late last night and didn't have to drive Jo to school + if I want to count it, it is my Birthday). Picked Jo up on time and we scooted back to mom's place to get her soccer gear.
We then hit a local restaurant for dinner and went off to a field in Eden Mills (about 10 minutes down the road from her house) for her soccer game.
After soccer, back to mom's place to drop off the uniform to be washed for the weekend (when she has team photos). Following the drop off it was back to the hotel and we watched the rest of the Stanley Cup Final, seeing the Ducks defeat the Senators in the end. Jo pointed out that while a Canadian team did not bring the cup home, there were more Canadian citizens on the Ducks than on the Senators so the cup would in fact be spending more time in Canada this off season. Good point!
Hey - a shout out to my Dad - congrats Dad, I am pretty sure you are the winner in your pool!
Talked with Papa/Grams on the phone and then off to bed.
Up early Thursday and made Jo her lunch and then took her off to school. After that I took the leisurely route back to the hotel for a couple hours rest but stopped for one more lunch supply shop at a local grocery store.
Returned back to her school and collected her on time. Her mother stopped by as well and told me of a time change for this weekend for the dance recittal. I will have to get Jo over to her house an hour earlier than planned as she has to have her hair done again. So on Saturday, the plan is to come over after soccer photos in the morning. So we left straight from school and headed down into Toronto. Tonight is Medieval Times!
We met with my friends Meggin and Ryan who were visiting in Toronto for a wedding. As well, Meggin and Ryan's friend Wanda and her other half, Derek, also came. It was a great evening together at the dinner/show. Our knight was the Red Knight and in the end he was the victor of the competition defeating all other challengers. Dinner was filling as usual and well prepared. It was everyone's FIRST TIME to the show except Jo and I (LOL) and they were all impressed.
Said our goodbyes after the show and headed back to the hotel. Jo was asleep in bed within 10 minutes of arriving back - man was she wiped!
Goodnight everyone.
