Well, we arrived safely in Bremerhaven on the morning of April 9th. Sorry I have not posted since then but after the Atlantic Crossing, most of us on time off have spent it ashore doing anything but being on the ship...
Funny, when we have pax aboard, you wish they weren't here (some)...and yet without pax, the ship it a virtual "ghost town". Absolutely weird.
Anyways, after our arrival, the first evening, a bunch of us went into town to have dinner and do some Karaoke. Man that was a long night. But the company was great, the food was just fine (definately better than the same ship food day in day out) and the entertainment was incredible...we have a lot of talented people in our group (both sober and not so sober...we will leave it at that).
We didn't get back aboard until early in the morning (ouch that hurts when you have to be back up and on duty at 0800). Oh well, you only live once (or twice if you are James Bond).
Hope all is well with you...I have managed to call a few of you and speak to you - which is really nice to hear your voices.
Day two we only went for dinner and returned to the ship - no post dinner activities like the previous night. This night it was Chinese at "Haus Shanghai" and the food was exquisite. For our group of 5, we each spent 25 Euros (including our tip) and we had appies, 6 main course dishes, and 2 beer each.
Day three we tried Greek - wow, garlic central (those of you that know me, know how I am feeling right now). Oh Squo...thanks for educating me on Saganaki, it was about the only thing in German (on the entirely German menu) that I could recognize...so I got that as an appy. Dinner was ordered (we all had the same) - we pointed to the picture (the only picture) on the inside cover showing some meat platter, looked like a kind of a combo plate. Tasty and plenty of food. With 2 beer each and dessert, appies, and the main courses, tonight was 30 Euros each. A bit more expensive but we saved money on the return cab fare as we walked part way back, having a wander through the "red light" district...a bit seedy and very differnt from home (I mean I don't recall seeing women in windows, selling themselves to the passerby's).
Today is day 4 here and there is not much, yet, to write about. Take care all and I will post again soon.
Love ya!

Hallo Dean, Guten Tag!Wie geht es Ihnen? That's pretty all the German I know plus a few other words.
With all that eating, I hope you manage to keep those pounds that you shaved earlier.
Take care big guy!
