Must have missed the announcement for "Assessment Party, Assessment Party..."

Well it is 3am in Grand Prairie and I know, you are all saying "what the hell are you doing up?"

As it happens, I am practicing my crew drill. Yep you guessed it, the fire alarms sounded and everyone was evacuated from the hotel we are staying in (Sandman Inn). Ahhh to be back on the ship. Turns out it was a high level of carbon monoxide setting off a detector on the first floor and 2 reports by pax - I mean guests - about dizziness/nausea. Everyone was out and in the parking lot, jammies, slippers. I was looking for my lifejacket (not really) and was debating on whether or not I should leave my blue card on the bed in case they planned crew rounds while we were out. (LOL). Tell ya though, soon as the bells went I was up, outa the bed, looked out the window quickly, no smoke, looked out the peep hole into the hall and saw others leaving and said, YEP, up and at ‘em everyone – we’re outa here. Jordan, Mom, Dad and I were out ASAP.

Anyways, check of the building, no high levels on record and the building was cleared – I bet it was a faulty detector.

Will let you all go for now, please take care, do keep in touch.

Be well and safe sailing to those at sea.

Cheers,
Dean
